Amelia at Vibra Hospital

Amelia Moore

Before her hospitalization, Amelia Moore lived an independent, active life. But when she began experiencing intense pain, a visit to the emergency room revealed a serious infection that required intravenous (IV) antibiotic treatment and advanced medical care.

Given the severity of her condition, Amelia was referred to Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas—a critical care hospital equipped to manage long-term, medically complex patients. Upon arrival, she faced respiratory failure, confusion, and significant physical weakness. Dependent on others for even basic movement, she required constant monitoring and intensive support from her care team.

Amelia’s journey at Vibra Hospital spanned several months. Physicians, nurses, and therapists partnered closely to help her regain strength and function. As the weeks progressed, Amelia’s alertness improved, and she reached a meaningful milestone: sitting up at the edge of the bed for the first time since her hospitalization.

From there, she continued to make steady progress. Through consistent therapy, Amelia eventually regained enough strength to complete pivot transfers and walk 30 feet with a walker—a major accomplishment on her path back to independence!

When she was ready for the next step in her recovery, Amelia was discharged to a skilled nursing facility to continue her rehabilitation journey. She remained focused on her ultimate goal: returning to the comfort of her home.

Thank you, Amelia, for inspiring us with your resilience. We’re proud to have been part of your recovery and wish you continued success!
