Terry Winslow
Before his hospitalization, Terry Winslow described his life as “awesome.” He worked as a general manager, loved driving his convertibles (especially his Thunderbird!), and took pride in his impressive CD collection of more than 22,000 albums.
Terry’s life changed after a fall caused a severe knee injury. He developed septic arthritis and required surgery to treat the serious joint infection. The prolonged hospitalization that followed left Terry significantly weakened and unable to care for himself independently.
When it came time for the next phase of his recovery, Terry’s care team referred him to Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas, a critical care hospital specializing in extended recovery and rehabilitation for patients with complex medical needs.
When Terry arrived at Vibra Hospital, he required extensive support from a comprehensive care team that included physicians, nurses, wound care specialists, and therapists.
“I was a mess,” Terry shared. “I had a hard time even rolling in bed.”
The loss of independence was especially difficult for someone accustomed to managing responsibilities and staying active. But Terry remained focused on a clear goal.
“My primary plan was to get back to being in charge,” he said.
With support from his care team and a commitment to recovery, Terry began making meaningful progress. Over time, he progressed from needing significant help with bed mobility to standing, completing transfers, and walking again.
Looking back on how far he had come, Terry shared that when he first arrived, his friends didn’t even recognize him. His progress reflected the hard work he put into every stage of recovery.
Terry expressed deep appreciation for his experience at Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas.
“I am so happy that I came here,” he shared. “The care has been fantastic. In more than one way, this place saved my life.”
Congratulations, Terry, on your incredible progress. Your hard work and perseverance have made a lasting impression on everyone who has worked with you. It has been an honor to be part of your recovery, and all of us at Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas wish you continued strength and success as you move forward.
